still having trouble with playing cdr 850 1996

Is the changer anchored in the trunk securely? take hold of the changer frame and gentley try to move it to see if is secure. If no movement, try shaking it with a little more force. It shouldn't move.

OPen the sliding door and press the inner unit down. it should swish up fairly fast. if it doesn't move back to the original position, the internal shocks could be bad.

Also try playing the unit while and thumping the rear window ledge to see if it goofs up.

Lastley, go to Radio shack, buy some canned compressed air and blow the inside of the changer out. make sure you remove the CD cassette first. DO NOT USE TUNER CLEANER OR ANY OTHER ELECTRONIC CLEANER as you could ruin your lazer or pick up heads. Using tuner cleaner could also remove any light libricants and dry out drive belts insdie the unit.

You can fine CD channel tester files on Kazza light or any other download sight. what that files does is is sends out specific tones and sounds to different channels. I had one that would say "you should hear this from your left front speaker"... . This may give you an idea if you have a pre-amp or channel circuit issue instead of a CD reading problem.

Of coarse, this question does need to be asked...does the changer play store bought/non pirated CDs?
