Coolant Reservoir C70 2000

1) When I change the coolant in the Spring, is there a way to remove the coolant reservoir to rinse out? The clip nearest the engine doesn't appear to give very much - and the setup is routed different than you see in VolvoSpeed Bay 13 pics.

2) Should I wait to change thermostat until next coolant change?

3) The power steering reservoir, which I just want to unclip, to, in turn, remove coolant reservoir, doesn't appear to unclip as easily as it looks. Any trick?

4) BTW, what's that black plastic housing in front of the p.s. reservoir?

5) The Internet has varying thoughts about the new Prestone orange coolant (something about brown stuff appearing on some cars never seen before - but who knows how common this is.....). As always, I'm positive there's something out there which has same or better specs to o.e. coolant, but I haven't determined which is best one out there and the way to proceed.

Thanks all.
