Interior light won't turn off 850 1995

Hi all, it's quite cold here in Toronto this past week and i'm having a problem with my interior light. When the switch is set to turn off when the doors are closed (fully to the right) the lights stay on. Each door seems capable of turning off the door lights properly when they are closed, and the trunk turns off the trunk light when closed--ie, all doors and trunk door sensors are working properly, yet the interior light stays on.

I've tried powerlocking the doors (which turns off the temporary light state for when you get out of the car), but the light still stays on.

The switch seems fine, and if i put it to the center position everything turns off--full left and everything turns on as it should.

This became a huge problem today when i left work to find my battery completely dead (it's -15C today, lovely).

Should i check for diagnostics codes? Is there a relay somewhere that might be bad? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
