850 Ignition key 850

1995, 850 turbo. Brought in to the dealer since the key won't come out of the ignition. They took the shiftlock cable out, lubricated it and reinstalled and adjusted. Lo and behold when I got home, the key wouldn't come out again. I've noticed that on an incline, gearshift in part in either direction, when the car ever so slightly eases forward or reverse and comes to rest, the key will at times come out. On level surfaces, it won't.
The dealer told me that that if this did not work, they would have to order a new cable from Sweden and that takes 7 days.
They charged me $190.00 for mechanic time.
Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

thanks
