Brake master cylinder of a '94 850 GLT 850

I need to change the master cylinder but the local Volvo dealer is extremely expensive. The Haynes manual says that in certain early models it is not possible to change only the master cylinder being necessary to change master cylinder + vacuum servo unit. I'm afraid about the bill.

Can anybody confirm me if in a '94 850 is possible to change only the master cylinder?

I'd like to know about master cylinder interchangeability between my 850 GLT '94 and other models, e.g. S70.

Thanks in advance.
