Wheel Well Trim S40-V40

I've been looking to find something to protect the wheel well/fender on my '03 V40 from maligned owners of other makes. Couldn't find anything aftermarket.....that looked good. However, at the dealership they came up with some nice trim wheel well protectors kits, from the '99 model year. They made one comment that made me decide to check with other owners before ordering the kits......seems in their opinion that "if the product was good, Volvo would have kept using it". They suspect that there may have been a problem with the trim not staying on the car.

So, those of you with '99s and the trim installed.....I would love the hear from you if the trim has done well or poorly.....$200 is a fair amount of money that I don't mind spending to protect the paint....if the trim will stay on.
