850 5 spds 850

I am not sure where I read this, but I recall reading that 97% of Volvo 850's were sold with the AT. Therefore, only 3% sold had the 5 speed.

The 5 speeds were offered on the base models and up to the GLT series through 1996. However, the GLT 5-speed was a non-turbo and the GLT with AT had a light pressure turbo.

In 1997, the 5 speed was made available on the LPT engine.

To answer your question, 5-speeds are very rare on these models. Even more so on the wagon variants. Approximately 1 in every 30 have a manual.
