$50 go cart shoes!!! V70-XC70

Well, after 3 months of my emergency brake not working, I ordered the new shoes and put them on Saturday. Actually "warmed up" to about 25 degrees that day so my hands didn't go numb until an hour into it. I guess what amazed me was that the old shoes were absolutely "destroyed"....there was NOTHING bonded to the old shoes and lots of chunks fell out. The shoes look like the old brake shoes I just put on my 66 GTO this past fall but somebody put them in a shrinking machine. I wasn't impressed with the design.....shoes just kinda "float" behind a clip, a metal cam just kind of rubs/pivots off the backing plate when you yank on the cable. I put silicone grease on the cam wear surfaces as you can see they had some rust! Works fine now.....hands thawed out after about 1 hour.
Gotta luv it! Seems to be a "part intensive" design just for a "holding brake"!!!
