Dying battery-1997 850 850 1997

I am still having problems with my '97 850 killing the battery over several days. It is beginning to look like it may have something to do with leaving the headlight switch set to on-so the lights come on automatically when you start the car. It had a recall done on the switch a few years ago.
Also, it periodically has gotten the ignition switch problem of dash indicator lights coming on-antilock/trax i think-Wife has too heavy a key chain.

Is it possible for a bad electrical side to the ignition switch and headlight switch to cause this???? (I realize anything is possible, but does it make sense?) Thanks in advance.
