i'd flush the engine with a good engine flush first (like amsoil, valvoline, etc), then use 0-30 or 5-30 synthetic motor oil. check the rubber gasket on the oil filler cap. if it is not leaking, then not necessary to change. the strut brace will give you the bang for the bucks and fairly easy to install. the car feels a lot better on corners.
