44psi sounds high to me...i recommend what ever you are comfortable with...based on the ride and cushion effect...dont forget the tire also acts as a shock absorber to some extent...the only reason drivers pump them up closer to the limit is to carry a heavier load or to get better mpg.ex-tire engr.
