Tire sizes on V70 T5 V70-XC70

I have a 1999 V70 T5 with standard 5 spoke 205/55r16s. In looking at tires/sizes, can any of you tell me what is the maximum size/width tires I can put on these rims? I know changes will affect speedo readings, so does anyone have, say 215/55s or 215/50s or 225/50s... Does width clear inner wheel wells, with the larger sizes, without changing rims...Just curious as new tires approch in the distance... Thanks to all/any Jay
