Hanging up in Park V70-XC70 1998

My V70R AWD is hanging up in Park. I push the button on the shifter and it won't depress. I have to turn the steering wheel back and forth and keep playing with the button to get it to depress so I can get out of Park.
It was happening every so often, but now it is getting almost constant. I'm afraid one day I won't be able to get it out of Park. Is there some adjustment that needs to be done? I'm not having any problems with the transmission as far as shifting or slipping problems.
