had accident!!! insurance won't fix it!!! 850 1996

the other day an idiot pulled out of a side road and hit the drivers side wing of my car, it was 100% his fault and 2 witnesses have said the same.

but the insurance company have said my car has beed modified and they will not repair the car because i didn't tell them this.

i am no mehanic or even a car enthusiast, i bought my 850 t5 thinking it WAS standard but i have been told that the front bumper and alloys are from a t5r.

i did think the alloys were different from other t5's but they have a volvo badge on them so i thought thet were optional extra's.

i have told the insurance company that bought the car like this and that i did not know this was a modification (and i definitely did not modify the car) and i have given tham the address of the person i bought it from so they can ask him also.

who is right here has anyone had similar probs, can the alloy and front bumper be fittted as optional extra when new?? there has only been one other owner and he said he bought it like this!!!

any ideas, thanks
