18x8?? Will that work at all 850

I got 17x7 on there now. Yeh the car is lowered with ipd lowering springs and I dont ususally drive with anyone but occasionally i do. There was this one rim i liked that was 18x8 but if its gonna give me troubles i wont get it. Now how about 18x7.5??? I know that guy from the netherlands has 18x7.5 on his T5R and he said they dont rub and hes running 225/35/18. As for the ride comfort im still young and i dont really care about that yet. Thanks for the help
