Matt & billy dee...Thanks! S70 1999

Thanks for the feedback. I'm just not sure where to go with this. What I really want is HID performance, not just "cool looking blue bulbs", without the expense and install hassle - but I guess the only real answer is an HID retro kit in the ~$500 range (unfortunately). The other "White Light" (type) simple replacement bulbs for $15 - $25 really don't give the same results even tho the might look cool! The kids with the blazing boom box stereos, neon lights and chrome junk all over the car love 'em tho! They're looking for the "HID look" and I'm after HID performance. Probably be just a handful of $ down the tubes with these replacement bulbs.

While looking into this I found the following site. This guy is probably an engineer (so am I) with a background on lighting techniques / applications. He makes very good points, although I don't completely agree with his overall assesment of HID retro kits 'cause I've seen them and know people that have them and they simply LOVE them!! So for an inforative take on this subject you should read this site. Lots of info here.

Thanks for your help! When I get around to this retro - I'll be sure to post my results.

Thanks!
