Almost stranded in So Cal CAM POSITION SENSOR FYI

Not that being stranded in So Cal is bad, Car running perfectly, 500 mile trip. Get in car to go home, won't start. No Check Engine Light on. Turns and turns but no go. No fuel smell or fumes from exhaust. No bad fuses, To shorten story. Indy shop in Thousand Oaks, can't get it started, checks coil for juice, nothing, then all of a sudden it springs to life and half a day of testign can't make it fail. He said he has replaced about a dozen CAM position sensors on 850s, but EVERYTIME they had left codes in computer and tripped CEL. Being nice guy, he said he didnt want to do $220 job if he wasnt sure that was the culprit. He did find a rotten vacuum hose that was making O2 sensor report rich mixture, better mileage on way home. I haven't heard much about this cam position sensor on the list so I wanted to share what little i did learn today, Thank you all for your contributions and willingness to help others.
