DEI installed by Circuit city 850 1993

I got remote start & key less entry done by Circuit City. They needed few extra parts and charged me $250. I did not wanted to tinker with it since they have done this type of job so many times. I am not sure how easy it is for a DIY job.

The system is made by DEI (whatever that stands for). I think it uses radio frequency since I noticed that, I do not have to be in a line of sight to activate it (like IR frequency). It uses a very small amount of voltage, so a 12 volt small battery is going three years for me. The activating range, for me, is about 100 feet on a open area. It is easy to use compare to one I used made by/for OEM. Mine is, one button to lock/unlock. Two button for remote start.

Rock and roll.
