ATF FLUSH + ATF FILTER CHANGE 850 1994

I understand there is a "filter" or perhaps better named "wire screen" that should need be cleaned.

Since there is not excessive mention to this item I deduct it is not a critical part and is more important the ATF flush than the ATF filter renew, perhaps the mechanic only want to raise the bill.

Neverthless, I would like to know about somebody that could tell me if this filter usually shows clogged or more or less clean after several years. If so I will not mess in cleaning/change (+ pan gaskets) the filter and I will limit myself to change (and pay) the ATF.
