Hearts and Minds V70-XC70 1999

I've had 2 Saabs....

My Volvo is a 2WD with a manual transmission, so there's less to go wrong than with an AWD Volvo. Even so, I'd have trouble recommending it to anyone who's going to need to contend with $36k tuition bills in a few years.

I MIGHT recommend the 6-speed V6 Accord coupe because it's likely to go on forever with minimal problems. And anything with 240hp and a 6-speed is a "Heart" car, even if it won't leave you stranded. (The "Heart AND Head" solution.) Yes, it's a coupe, and the back seat passengers can WALK if they don't like it.

Teens get their driver's licenses soon after they begin to complain about rear legroom. Frankly I'd probably keep the Jetta, maybe assigning it to kid's use when the kids get their licenses.

My cousin-the-Air-Force-Colonel has something north of 300k on HIS Jetta! He has to replace a lot of parts, but fortunately the parts are cheap by Volvo standards.
