pnp replacement without alignment tool!!! is it possible??? 850

I did mine with no alignment tool. The only reason for the alignment tool is to make sure that you don't rotate the PNP shaft out of sync with the shifter location. Mark it if it makes you feel better. Better yet when you pull the shift arm off the shaft rotate the shaft to the right or left and count the clicks so you know where it was in the first place. I was just careful not to turn the shaft, but an ounce of prevention is called for here (Hey Dad! Watch! This thing spins like a top!).
