S80 trans with filter S80 2000

On the S80, it's an actual GM filter (not a screen). My dealer also sells GM cars and I could get a GM filter from the GM parts counter that's identical if our parts guys didn't stock the same part in a box that says "Volvo" on it.
It's seemingly strange that there's no filter or fluid change interval on S80 trannies but the fluid seems to stay red and clean looking far longer than on other FWD/AWD Volvo trannies.
If I owned an S80, I'd probably replace the filter (with pan gasket) and do a fluid flush every 50K miles but that's just my opinion.
