Timing belt concerns 850 1994

I replaced my timing belt yesterday. I had a hard time keeping the pulleys lined up. After getting the belt on with everything lined up like I thought it should be, I rotated the engine a couple times. When I was rotating the engine, it would not turn over smoothly: I could turn it a bit and it would spring backwards. After I ratcheted it over a couple times it would get over the hump and turn over. I started the car and it seems like there is more clatter than usual. What danger am I in?
