IPD Sway bar goes crunch crunch S70 2000

I've been hearing a crunch-crunch from my front suspension when I go over speed bumps. (Things are quiet otherwise). This has been going on for a while now. I finally put the car up on ramps today to peak around under there. I discovered that the noise is coming from my IPD Sway Bar bushings.

When the suspension compresses, the sway bar rotates in the two bushings that hold it to the body of the car. This rotation of the sway bar in the bushing is causing the loud crunch noise on compression and then on rebound.

I had these bars put on at the dealer a couple years ago (due to nasty install involved). I'm not sure how much lube they put on the bushing, but I did see evidence of it being there. The car has 13K on it, so I can't imagine that this is a wear related issue.

I was going to try to pull off the bushing to re-lube it just to be sure. But clearance was too tight and after burning my nose and then my arm on the exhaust, I gave up. You need to be the late Harry Houdini himself to get to those bolts without lowering the cross member.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Not sure at this point how best to resolve this.

Thanks,
Ted
