Neutral safety Switch 850

More commonly known as the PNP switch. Commonly about $120 for the part. If you pay labor too, expect $225-250 for total part and labor (about what I paid at 116k). If you DIY, you might need an alignment tool, not sure how much, but it can be done without the tool. This is a switch in the transmission that senses the location of the gear selector. Commonly when the PNP (Neutral Safety Switch) is faulty the tranny locks in "limp home mode" where only 3rd and 4th gears are available. There are other warning signs. You want to get this repaired right away.
