850 odometer stopped working 850

My 1995 odometer has been down for a couple of weeks. Forever 116,000 miles. It could be that gear, but on the day it went kaput, I started the car and noted that the computer display noted the outside temp as 106 (which it obviously wasn't)! It soon went back down to normal and has been there ever since, but I'm wondering if that was an idication that the odometer is tied to some sensor that may have malfunctioned.

Any thoughts? Thanks.
