Won't start 850 1994

I'm going thru the same problem now. How did you finally diagnose the problem? How do you figure out timing belt has jumped? My '93 850 (126k)has been doing this off and on for a week. Every now and then it starts up. Then as soon as my eighteen year old takes it and turns it off he can't restart it.

I had just changed his coolant, brake fluid, ATF. Checked his brake pads, etc. I thought I must have run the battery down just enough to prevent it from turning over. Then I go get the car and it starts right up. I started teasing my wife and son about having bad ju-ju. Until today, I can't for the life of me figure it out. Battery checks out OK. there is juice from the coil, plugs look fine, I just changed the fuel filter but that seems ok. I had driven it for 10 miles yesterday and my son another 10 today before he turned it off this afternoon. He went back out and nothing. This is making me crazy. HELP!
