60K Service 850 1995

Personally, I'd have the 60k service done at a dealer. This major service is a good oppurtunity to have the car gone over by a good tech. (Unless your friend is a good tech!)

If you asked about your timing belt, I'd bet that you would get a lot of suggestions to change it due to time instead of mileage. Many people suggest that you change it after 5 years, certainly 7. I had my '95 done a year ago, shortly after we purchased it with 49,000 miles. Our engines are what they call "interferance" engines, many expensive parts clash if the timing belt breaks. A couple of grand for a $50 belt. You might do a search on the topic.

BTW - the Haynes manual has a decent write-up on periodic maintenence.
