Cigarette Lighter in Center Console pushed through V70-XC70 1998

Hi Chuck,

I guess you ndon't have to remvo all of your console, you only remove the plastic that starts at the P lever of transmission lever and connects to the console under the ash tray. In my 850, when you remove the coin tray, there's a little torx screw towards the rear of the car. There's also another screw on the cigar lighter portion of that part of the console (it is also faces towards rear). take those screws out. then slowly lift the end and pull it towards rear at the same time. Then you can remove the OBDII connector (the actual DLC I'm saying) and the connections to the lighter. That is a 6x5 piece I think you can buy from the dealer at the worst case. Check if the casing for the cigar lighter for damage. If that part is hard to pull, take out the ash tray too. When you open it you'll see two little screws on the upper part. take them off and the ashtray comes right out. Then you should be able to take the other part easily.
Ihsan
