When do one replace water pump? 850 1994

1. It's uncommon to have to replace the waterpump, and most owners and repair techs say the Volvo pump is well built and reliable.

2. Unfortunately, my case was an exception. Not too long after my 70k timing belt change, the water pump began leaking (a lot). And it's not cheap ($200+) plus labor, most of which would have been covered under the timing belt change if I had it replaced at that time.

If you play the odds, your pump will be OK for miles to come. That's what I did, but lost. Your decision.
