Front windshield replacement 850

Well, my 1/4 inch crack that was in my front windshield for about 6 months has grown to about a 14 inch crack. I suppose the freeze thaw cycle has a little something to do with it and I guess it's time to have the thing replaced. Anybody want to share any experiences / words of advice over the types of repair shops, etc. The Volvo dealer said they do not do windshield replacement.
My glass is factory and has the VIN number etching. Anybody know what the cost of this factory glass vs. "replacement" glass is? Thanks to everybody.
