experiences with the 1999 V70R V70-XC70

Hi

I´m planning to add a new memeber to our family. I figured out a 1999 V70R AWD.
Now currently I´m driving around with a 1989 240 wagon, which will certainly NOT be sold when the new one arrives :-)

Consequently I don´t have any experiences with the FWD Volvo`s. I´ve heard a lot of quite good quotation from different car magazines etc. but I´m also interested in the personal experience which you´ve made with the V70R.

You know that the 240´s where really strong. Even after hundreds of thousands of miles they maintain a reliable and safe car for you and the whole family.

How about that with the ´99 V70R, especially concerning reliability, gas mileage, electrical failures and other gimmicks which may arise? Moreover are cars with higher mileages (70-80.000) dangerous to buy even if they where well maintained?

I always liked the design of the first generation V70 and especially the R, so with buying a car like that relly a dream would come trough :-)

Thanks for any input -- lots of greetings

Ciao -- M.P.
