PBR Deluxe question.

I had my local shop throw on the PBR's
that I had at home today as my front OEM pads were
totally shot at 34 k miles.

Question 1 - Are these PBR's supposed to give off a
burning smell for a few days while they
break in.

Question 2 - With my manual transmission I usually roll back
on a slight hill or incline. Not no more. Maybe the pads
are sticking tight on the rotors. It does roll back
on steeper inclines. Feels almost like the Parking break is on
one click. Will this resistance dissipate over time as pads wear?

Observation - PBR's look thicker than my OEM's when they were new.
Am I wrong?
