coolant in engine oil 850 1995

More info per water in oil. There is milkshake color on dipstick. There is a wet smell, not necessarily an antifreeze smell, when the heater fan comes on. I did an oil change after letting the car sit for 4 hours and captured the first quart in a glass container. I could not see any evidence of coolant in the oil after letting it sit overnight. I did this oil change after only about 300 miles of use from the previous oil change. At the time of the previous oil change there was the light brown, milkshake colored oil on the filler cap. There seams to be a slight amount of coolant loss. I have not yet looked for a leak in the heater core or hoses. I do not smell anything in the car other than when the heater fan first comes on.
