Premature Serpentine Belt Replacement? S70 2000

I have a 2000 S70 GLT with 39,750 miles. The Volvo dealer tells me that it's time to replace the Serpentine Belt.

Is 40,000 miles the normal changing interval for this part? If not, how long should this belt typically last?

The Maintenance Service Operations states that the 'Auxillary' drive belt needs replacement at 60,000 miles. Is the 'Auxillary' drive belt different from the Serpentine Belt?

Do you have any recommendations on how to lengthen the life of future/new Serpentine belts (i.e. lube/treat it with something)?

Thanks for your help.
