to add to my opinion!!! S70 1998

imagine this story: I travel down a country paved road at about 70mph, i make contact with a buzzard which luckily only hit the front glass.it busted the glass of course(almost came inside the car) probably had something to do with the speed of course.well to get on with it. i take it to the glass shop and tell them to put in an "exact replacement" which they said they had on the shelf. well there was a plastic trim piece on the bottom of the old glass that snaps in to the cowl that helps position the new glass and fixes the cowl sealing it to the glass(without it rain water flows directly over the electrical of the wiper motor). the new glass doesnt come with one at all.which no problem they can just reuse the trim from old glass and place it on new right?well the glass "technician" guy throws the trim away with old glass.
i noticed it the next day and returned for them to replace the trim.but much to my suprise the tech says it supose to look like that.(he drove a bmw). well across the road was a volvo dealer so i go there and park beside a model of the same as mine.call the glass place to come see.(lo and behold i almost went to jail that day because the tech came over too and insisted that i had brought the car in without the trim on it. i know this is long but please read on......well the insurance company happened to be next to the volvo dealer, how lucky right? wrong, the insurance company said im on my own good luck! so i convince the glass place to buy the trim from the volvo dealer, we had the part number and all.well guess what? the piece buy itself is unavailable, you have to buy the whole volvo dealer glass which is 850 dollars with a discount.
could not get ANY junk yards to sell the piece even from a broken glass, something about not worth thier time. i contacted the glass mfg. and had good comunication for a while trying to locate the part till i had almost talked the nice lady at the glass mfg. company to ship me one from europe and suddenly i think she was told to drop it and all communication stopped. so then when i whipped out my photos i had taken of the car just before i had taken it to the glass place the first time and stopped payment on the deductible i had charge and had the paperwork in order for the small claims court, the glass place then ordered me a new glass from dealer.
THE WHOLE PROBLEM WITH THIS WAS THAT VOLVO ITSELF DID NOT KNOW HOW TO GET THIS PART OR IF IT WAS AVAILABLE AT ALL!!!!!THEY DID NOT KNOW IF IT WOULD COME ON THE GLASS OR THE COWL!!!THE GLASS MFG.KNEW BECAUSE THEY MADE THE GLASS WITH THE PIECE PRE-INSTALLED FOR VOLVO'S FACTORY,BUT GLASS MFG.STOPPED COOPERATING.ALL VOLVO KNEW WAS THAT THE PIECE WITH ITS PART NUMBER WAS NO LONGER AVAILABLE!
so the glass place ordered the glass hoping it would be on it and it was.
they put the new glass in my car,,,,,all this took 2 and a half months!!!!!!!
--------THIS HAD DONE IT FOR ME WITH VOLVO.THIS IS MY LAST VOLVO------------
THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO MY GRIPE .I MUST GO OUTSIDE AND SHOUT NOW!zash
