oil changes on the border S60 2002

If you have a N/A then dino oil with changes @ 3K would be fine but if you have a turbo then I would definitely go with synthetic. I live in FL with temps similar to yours and have always used Mobil 1 (10W-30) synthetic in all my turbos. I change oil @ 5K but have gone to 7K if on the highway most of the time. No problems for the last 10 years. Some people on the board recommend having the oil tested at your regular oil change interval to see if the oil is still "protecting". Volvo recommends oil changes at 7500 miles and they built the car!!
