Alarm mysteriously turns on and won't turn off 850 1996

My alarm began sounding when I got into my 850 wagon the other day and it has never done that before (had the car for two years). Oddly, I couldn't get it to stop. I tried turning the front passenger and tailgate doors with the key as instructed in the manual and had several other people read and interpret the manual and try to stop the alarm and they couldn't either. I ended up disconnecting the wire that connects to the alarm and the problem was seemingly resolved (I don't use the alarm anyhow). However, when I got in my car today and started it I noticed a clicking noise. It turns out that the signal to the alarm is still being sent even though it is disconnected. The problem is that the process of sending the signal drains my battery to the point where I need a jump to start it up again. I disconnected the battery and reset the car and the alarm is no longer being signaled to sound but my fear is that whatever caused it to mysteriously sound the first time will occur again and I'll be faced with the same problem. Does anyone know how to stop the relay from sending a signal to the alarm? Can I simply remove a fuse? Has anyone else run across this problem?
