1993 850 not starting 850 1993

Hello- I need a response ASAP, please! My '93 850, for some reason will not start at the moment (it's 25 degrees in northern VT now). I went to the car just a few minutes ago, put the key in and the car fired, but then immediately died. Subsequent turns of the key result in the starter motor running, but the engine will not fire. I turn it to the start position, and all the electrical accesories work, but it just won't seem to fire over. What's the trouble? Could it be the alternator, electrics, etc?
