AC Switch 850

Fellow Volvo Owners,

I have a 1994 stock 850 with no Auto Climate Control. The AC switch (next to the recirc switch) on the control panel broke and snapped off. It doesn't go back on. Unlike a simple Volvo 240 solution, the switch is part of a bigger control unit in back of the control knobs. The dealership wants $86 bucks for Volvo PN #6802442 and who knows how much to put it in. My non-dealer repair shop wanted $320 to fix. These old 850's are a nightmare. Ever try to replace some burnt out bulbs on the dashboard ? Possibly the worst design ever.
