Prolonged Short Distance Driving!

its trips less than 3miles that are killers because the motor oil doesnt warm up enough to drive the moisture off.if you dont warm up the motor oil then the moisture in the oil combines with the sulfur in the oil to form sulfuric acid and this is what tears up the bearing in the motor.3miles gets the motor oil up to operating temperature and this will drive off the moisture.the only other way that i can think of, if this is a problem, is to use an engine block heater year round to keep the motor oil warm enough to that moisture wont condense into the oil when it cools.good luck...hope this helps.
