Turbo Downpipe - Are there symptoms other then an oil leak? 850 1995

My mechanic said i have an oil leak from my turbo down pipe. i was wonder, could the pipe also be causing the turbo to lag? Sometimes it lags more then normal, but it doesn't happen ALL the time. Also, whe idling i can hear a clicking noise, sounds like it from the front of the engine near the turbo piping. I was thinking it could be that the hole is somehow effecting the oil pressure which is causing the noise? Any help is appreciated...
