Peeling Roof Rails 850 1993

I had the same problem, I bought my 1993 Volvo 850 with the peeling roof rails. I asked the dealer if they have a replacement part and they said they do and it cost $156 each, plus installation. What I did was, I sanded both sides with a very fine sand paper and I bought a can of black BBQ paint to use. Masked the parts you don't want painted and spray away. The reason for the BBQ paint is it can hold a much higher temperature abuse so it doesn't fade.
