fewer 850 problems after '94? 850

i've been shopping around for an 850 or a 940, and like the 850 better but am worried about repairs. i've been told that from '95 on the car had fewer problems, but i just read a string about rear main seals w/ '95's.

so what's up? does the rear mains, the tranny, the a/c condenser, ABS module, etc, continue to be a problem with most 850's? am i better off with a '95 or later 850 than an '93 or '94, or should i just find a 940 if i'm worried about repairs? ( i don't do repairs myself...)
