Driver's door check strap 850 1997

I'm hopeing that someone can help me. The mounting on the door pillar for the checkstrap has come loose. I have unbolted the checkstrap to keep it from falling off compleetly. How do I go about fixing this? Will it have to be mig welded? or is there another way. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
