Another dealer told me that it is very unlikely to be the sensor. He also said it could be the module. It locks up so tight that the wheel makes scrachy noises. Here is something everyone must read:
What Oakville Volvo recommended in order to fix the problem:
- Replace Both Rear ABS Sensors = $ 452.97 parts & labor
- Replace Rear Rotors = $ 247.36 parts & labor
- Replace Rear Pads = $155.34 parts & labor
- Replace Rear Shoes = $485.22 parts & labor
This comes up to be a total of $1340.59 Canadian!!! They must think I am an idot or something!!! They told me everything is in critical condition (I will die if I don't do the recommends). However, they couldn't show me why these parts need to be replace when I asked them to. I called up another Volvo dealer for parts pricing. Here is what I got:
- ABS Sensors = $189.76 parts
- Rotors = $89.54 parts
- Pads = $32.22 parts
- Shoes - N/A
Big difference isn't it??? Say the shoes are $200 (parts). That is only roughly $500. That means they are charging me $1000 for labor!!! This is insane if you ask me. There is more to the story, I am just so upset at them that I have to tell this. I told me to just unseize it so I can move the car out of their parking lot. They refused to let me drive it. The manager told me that the only way to get my car out of their parking lot is to tow it. I told them no since I already spent $85 towing the car to the dealer. So they took one of my key and took off my license plate. I was so upset that I just left right after. Now (two days later) that my car is still somewhere on the Volvo dealer parking lot. I still don't know what to do with it.
I am very disappointed with the way how they treated me!!! Maybe is because they think that I am only 22 yrs old and know nothing at all. I swear never buy another Volvo again. And plus BMW's are much better cars anyways. Or at least they handle a lot better.
