Hope there are some other good Volvo Tech on this board that can ansver my Q.
History:
The car is a V40 from 98 it is a B4204S and it has around 180.000 km on the counter.
Suddently the milage drops from around 12km/litre to 8 km litre only other sympton is a slight rough idle (not much but it is pendling around 750-800 rpm)it is same owner etc. so it is probably not due to changes in driving habits. Engine dosent use any oil or water.
This has been done:
-Plugs oil and all filters changed.
-Compresion check of all cylinders - 14kg - all ok
-Inspection of cylinders with endoscope - all ok
-Idle motor changed.
-Potientiometer in gas valve renewed.
-No fault codes in computer
-All gaskets/pipes in inlet manifold chacked for laeque
-Fuel injectors dismantled and cleaned and checked for spray pattern flow etc.
Still only gets 8 km/litre.
I am runing out of ideas can anyone help?
My last ideas:
-Could it be the Lambda sond (no fault codes!)
-Could it be the catalytic converter - and what would the symptons be form a bad cat?
Any other ideas?
