Torque? S70 2000

Horsepower figures abound, but no one has mentioned TORQUE. This is what really gets the car moving off the line. Even if the 'Stang and the S70 have comparable numbers here, the Ford mill probably develops peak torque much lower in the powerband than the Swedish mill due to its larger displacement and three 'extra' cylinders. The turbocharger also introduces lag. And if your S70 is a stick, unless you're really adept at launching it, an automatic will almost always dust you off the line.

I suspect that in a real race, YOU would be in HIS rearview.
