Clearcoat? Wax? 850

I have a 97 850, nautical blue. I'm pretty sure it's a "metallic." I recently had a little damage done to the front end, and they ended up repainting a portion of the hood, and putting clearcoat over the entire hood. I'm wondering whether the entire car now has a clearcoat, or just the hood? In other words, did my car come out of the factory with a clearcoat?

I looked in the archives, and didn't find a clear-cut answer.

I plan on using Meguiar's Gold Class Liquid Wax for any clearcoated surfaces on my car. (I know I need to wait 2-3 months before applying to the newly painted hood.) Is there any reason NOT to use this wax on parts of the car that may NOT be clearcoated?

Thanks.
