engine misfire on and off 850

I refilled my 850 with gas and now the engine is occasssionally misfireing at idle but gets worse when in drive or reverse. This happended approx a month ago as well and went away after a day. Now would I be right to assume that the feul is dodgy or that my fuel filter needs to be replaced? I have given the car a service - changed oil and sparks plugs. Should I also check the distibuter cap? Don't know where to start?????
